Now I Get It
Jennifer carefully opened the envelope she found on her front porch. Inside was a simple, two-line poem that read, "Just as the man with hair of snow, so is the coin that's lost its glow." Inside was a picture of an old man, and an old silver dime. Jennifer wondered what this meant.
The next night another envelope appeared. "Just as the sun on a cloudless day, so is the coin that shines today." Inside was a picture of the sun, along with a brand new dime. On the third night, another message: "Just as the time that quickly soars, so are the things that are not yours." Inside the envelope was a picture of a cloak, along with a pair of her sister's earrings. Jennifer could hardly contain herself when the fourth night yielded yet another mysterious poem. This one read, "Just as the sky at noonday clear; so is the object you see here." Inside was a beautiful blue swatch of bloth. Jennifer pondered the four gifts, wondering what they could mean. She knew her boyfriend was sending them, but what was he trying to say? Suddenly, it hit her. "Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue!" She squealed to herself. "He wants to marry me!" What a creative proposal huh! haha (:

This is an extract from the website http://www.friendship.com.au/tributes/short/01-jun.html
Chelsea Reeves: for Jordon Today I found out my best friend was moving... It hurts me so bad when I think about how it is going to be in the future... Not only will she be in a different town but, a diffrent state. Before I find out she was moving I used to picture us in the future doing special stuff together. Like sharing a limo on the way to prom, her being the first for me to give her a ride in my new car, partying together on graduation night & stuff like that.. But now I look in the future & I relize we will never have those special moments.. Sure, I have other best friends but, when no one else would understand me I knew I could go to her and she would make me feel like all my problems had gone away after I was done talking to her... I never had a doubt in my mind that I couldn't trust her... Yea we had our fights like every friendship does but, in the end we would always come out together closer than we were before our fight. Jordan what am I going to do without you? Why did you have to leave me now when things were going so bad for me? Who am I going to talk to when no one else understands me? Jordan not leaving for a couple of more months... Until then I'm going to make our last days together our happiest... I love you Jordan.... Does this have a great impact on you? Does it explain to us how important it is to treasure our friends? :) I urge you to tell your friends how important they are to you!

Time understands love
Once upon a time there was an island where all the feelings lived; Happiness, Sadness, Knowledge, and all the others......, including Love. One day it was announced to all of the feelings that the island was going to sink to the bottom of the ocean. So all the feelings prepared their boats to leave. Love was the only one that stayed. She wanted to preserve the island until the last possible moment. When the island was almost totally under, Love decided it was time to leave. She began looking for someone to ask for help. Just then Richness was passing by in a grand boat. Love asked, "Richness, Can I come with you on your boat?" Richness answered, "I'm sorry, but there is a lot of silver and gold on my boat and there would be no room for you." Then Love decided to ask Vanity for help who was passing in a beautiful vessel. Love cried out, "Vanity, help me please." I can't help you", Vanity said, "You are all wet and will damage my beautiful boat." Next, Love saw Sadness passing by. Love said, "Sadness, please let me go with you." Sadness answered, "Love, I'm sorry, but, I just need to be alone now." Then, Love saw Happiness. Love cried out, "Happiness, please take me with you." But Happiness was so overjoyed that he didn't hear Love calling to him. Love began to cry. Then, she heard a voice say, "Come Love, I will take you with me." It was an elder. Love felt so blessed and overjoyed that she forgot to ask the elder his name. When they arrived on land the elder went on his way. Love realized how much she owed the elder. Love then found Knowledge and asked, "Who was it that helped me?" "It was Time", Knowledge answered. "But why did Time help me when no one else would?", Love asked. Knowledge smiled and with deep wisdom and sincerity, answered, "Because only Time is capable of understanding how great Love is."
Because true love can stand up against all odds, because, true love can withstand the test of time. credits : http://www.touchinglovestories.com/timeunderstandslove.htm

The Ring
There was a man who went with his wife to a jewellery shop and a particular ring caught the man's eye. He requested to try it on, and was pleased by how fine the ring looked on his finger. He proceeded to remove it but found that he couldn't. He panicked and the salesperson, along with his wife, tried all means and methods to remove the ring from his finger. In the end, the salesperson applied some sort of lubricant and the ring slipped off easily. The couple breathed a sigh of relief and the wife was about to turn and leave the shop when she realised that her husband had bought the ring.
Later, in the car on the way home, the wife asked her husband why he bought the ring. 'Well, I was embarassed that I had caused them so much trouble so I decided to buy it anyway to thank them.' 'But dear, how much did it cost?' The husband hesitates and whispers the price of the ring, a guilty look on his face. 'WHAT? How could it cost so much money? Look at the ring! It has a crack on the inside! We have to go and exchange it for another one right now.' 'It's not worth it. We're already home anyway. Just forget about it, forget it.' As they open the door of their house, the husband mentions casually,'It's funny but just as I left the shop another man's finger got stuck in a ring, too! Wasn't it such a coincidence?' The wife bangs her head on the wall and cries,'You've been conned! The salesperson purposely chose a ring smaller than the one you requested for so it would get stuck on your finger! How come he had a container of lubricant right under the counter? And then selling it to you for an exorbitant price? You're just so... Arghh!!!' She proceeds to storm into the bedroom and locks the door, leaving her husband to hit his own head on the door at his foolishness. In the world today, there are many wolves in sheep's clothing. They might not be who you think they are. We have many names for them: liars, backstabbers, cheaters, and so on. They're main purpose is to gain your trust, or to embarass you enough into helping them get what they want. We must be careful not to trust people too easily, if not we could get easily hurt. It is a shame when people manage to get conned and lose alot of money or break their heart. Don't let this be your life story. Be wary.

Billy asked his friends what they think of her and his friends thought she was gay: they didn't like her at all. So, Billy just went along with them and all of them made fun of her, making her feel really bad and upset. Credits: http://www.lovefatedestiny.com/teenslovestories.htm

A Simple Act
Most of you should have heard or seen a similar video like this. A boy was throwing starfish on the sand into the waters to give them a chance of survival. A man told him that even though you threw some starfish back into the sea, you can't throw everyone of it and save all of them so why try. The boy replied even though he could not save all of the starfish, at least he saved the starfish that he threw into the sea. Our simple act can make a big difference in other people's life. Smile to a stranger and you can bright up their day. Help a fallen child and he'll remember you. Throw away your rubbish into the wastepaper bin and cut down the number of times the elderly cleaners have to bend their backs to pick it up after you. Think of what effect you can cause when you do anything. Someone's life may change just because of your one simple action. |
